Graduate Applications and Admissions
Application forms for admission and financial aid may be filled out directly via the Web (see below for link). Completed applications, including transcripts and GRE scores, should be submitted by midnight EST on January 15th for admission in August, and by midnight EST on October 15 for admission in January. A minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and a firm background in physics, chemistry and mathematics is required for admission.

If your primary goal in our graduate program is obtaining an MS degree in the Teaching of Earth Sciences, you must complete an additional application for admission to the Teacher Education Program in the College of Education. This application can be obtained form the Graduate Admissions Secretary in the Dept. of Geology at the contact address just below. The application is due by February 1 for fall admission only. In this case, acceptance into the Graduate Program is conditional on admission to the College of Education. Information on admission to the College of Education is available on their web page.
