Kieffer gets GSA Penrose Medal

Recently retired Sue Kieffer (Walgreen Professor Emeritus), was awarded the Geological Society of America's Penrose Medal for 2014. This is one of the GSA's highest honors, established in 1927 for outstanding original contributions to the science of geology. The GSA recognized that Sue contributed across a broad range of disciplines including planetary sciences, geophysical fluid dynamics, shock wave physics and river hydraulics. The medal will be presented in a ceremony at the 2014 GSA Annual Meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia, 19 Oct.
