Prospective Students

University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign is a world-class, R1, research institution and one of the top 30 Universities in the world. Students at UIUC benefit from excellent financial and research support and access to facilities such as the Blue Waters Super Computer - the fastest academic computer in the world. In addition to extensive course offerings, the Dept. of Geology runs several local field trips throughout the year and a yearly international field trip to locations such as Scotland, Cyprus, Ireland, and Curaçao. Recent graduates from the UIUC Geology Graduate Program have gone on to careers in the petroleum and environmental industries as well as tenure-track positions at universities such as Caltech, U of Oregon, and U of Miami.
